As a qualified sports dietitian, I’ve spent the last 20 years working with world class and Olympic athletes in sports like football, cycling, basketball, netball, and gymnastics, PLUS endurance events like marathon running, ironman, triathlon, swimming, tough mudders, and adventure racing.
Through a combination of nutrition, lifestyle and mindset strategies, I’ve helped these devoted performers achieve success and become standouts in their fields.
These incredibly passionate people leave their blood, sweat and tears on the floor, but then come home and don’t have the energy to do anything else.
They’d be pushing harder than ever in their training, but not seeing any results on game day.
And though they loved their sport through and through, they were struggling to keep all their balls in the air and not get buried under all the other stuff they had to do.
Sports nutrition is not a new concept, but it is not always implemented correctly.
Often the reason behind this is that many athletes are unaware of what the ‘right’ foods are and the huge difference nutrition could make to their performance. There is no doubt that nutrition is one of the tools essential for the achievement of peak performance in sport.
In this presentation, athletes will have the opportunity to learn about:
- Energy – the role of carbohydrate, protein and fat
- Training nutrition
- Competition nutrition – before, during and after
- Fluids and hydration- how much, what type and when
- Sporty meals and snack ideas
- Sports supplements and protein powders
This session will contain practical tips designed for your specific sport. Presentations for the junior athlete may also include calcium, iron and eating disorders.
Sometimes, actually getting coaches and teams in the same place for education involved can be tricky. That’s where my online program might be the answer for your team or club.
