About Julie Meek

Thanks for popping in and saying hi.

My name is Julie Meek and I’m a performance specialist and Sports Dietitian.

You can read more about the kind of things I talk about on my blog page but let me give you a little look at who I am and what I do.

I’m Australian and live far, far away in Perth (that’s according to everyone who doesn’t live here).  I’m married to D2 and together we have three kids. Life is a bit crazy but hey, that’s how we roll.

I’ve been working in the peak performance space for over 20 years and it’s my favourite thing to do.

In our crazy-busy world, we are pulled from one competing deadline to the next. We’ve got commitments coming out of our ears, hectic schedules and financial concerns. There simply doesn’t seem to be enough time in the day to get through your to-do list, let alone have the time to look after your health and energy levels!

The Blog

My blog is about health, nutrition, performance and all the things in between. I’ve been blogging for over a decade in various forms but my main squeeze is at Julie Meek’s Blog.  Reading and listening won’t guarantee instant health but it will give you some ideas and tips about how to go about it.

You will also find some podcasts on there too, every time I hit the airwaves on radio 6PR 882AM.

For the love of Italy

The family and I fell head over heels in love with Italy back in 2011. This led to us living there for three months while the kids went to school and D2 and I ate pastries and merrily drank coffee and wine.

From these delicious beginnings, my dream of running Yoga and Wellness retreats in Tuscany was born and I’ve been running these week-long retreats for four years now.  It’s hard to describe how sensational they are but you can read my thoughts on them and all the details about my Italian Yoga and Wellness Retreats.

Sports Dietitian

I do love sport and I have worked with athletes for many years. I am currently the Sports Dietitian at the Perth Glory Soccer Club and the Gymnastics National Centre of Excellence.

Some of the other teams I have worked with include the Fremantle Dockers Football team, the champion Perth Wildcats team and many Olympic athletes across all sports at the Western Australian Institute of Sport.

If you need some personalised assistance with your own sport or active journey you can organise an individual consultation with me here.

Online Programs

Like so many others I worked out a few years ago that more and more people like to choose where and how they can get educated on their own health and wellbeing.  Online learning is just so convenient in this crazy-busy world of ours and when there doesn’t seem to be enough in the day to do it all, taking part in a program online makes perfect sense. You might like my Get Your Body Buzzing Express program or perhaps the Fuelling Peak Performance program if you are wanting all the tips and tricks to fuel your work-outs.

My Books

I’ve also authored two books  – the first one is ‘truth, lies and chocolate’ which is all about 99 Facts and Fairytales about Food.  This is a book designed to assist you to get the most from the food that you eat whether you are an athlete, a Mum, a corporate executive or Joe Bloggs.

My second book, ‘Ready, Set…Go’ features a bunch of extraordinary individuals who share their ideas on how to create peak health and performance in your day to day life. This book covers topics like nutrition, movement, sleep, managing stress and how to live your best life. I had a lot of fun meeting them all and I know you will too.

Hire me as a Speaker

The thing I love to do most is speak. I’ve been fortunate enough to do that many times around Australia and around the world. You can find more information on my speaking here.
